The 57th Mim Kut Festival was celebrated with great enthusiasm at the KCMT ground in Medziphema, Nagaland, on January 17. Known as the "mini-Hornbill festival," this vibrant post-harvest festival was organized by the Kuki Community Medziphema Town (KCMT) and attended by prominent figures, including Boboi, Associate Professor at Phek Government College as the Chief Guest, and Alet Hangsing, who was honored as the "Kut Pa" for the event.

Mim Kut, a significant festival for the Kuki tribe, is observed annually to mark the end of the harvest season. While the festival is usually a state-wide event, this year’s celebrations were held in various Kuki settlements across Nagaland, focusing on local community engagement. The festival is usually celebrated on January 17 every year and is included in the restricted holiday list of Nagaland state.

The festivities at KCMT ground were marked by a mix of cultural displays, traditional games, and performances. The program was divided into two sessions: a morning session featuring traditional cultural items and games, followed by an evening rock session where local pop bands and artists will entertained the crowd. The evening session also included the much-awaited Miss Mim Kut contest, adding a glamorous touch to the celebration.

The Mim Kut Festival remains a vital cultural event for the Kuki people of Nagaland, showcasing their rich heritage and traditions.
