Arsoning of Seilen Haokip's Home is deeply regrettable, says KNO; Fervently appeal all to take extreme caution

The incidents of arson inflicted upon the home of Dr. Seilen Haokip, Spokesperson Kuki National Organisation (KNO), in the late hour of 3rd July 2023 is deeply regrettable, said Thangjason Karong, Secretary, Information and Publicity, KNO.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Thangjason said such nefarious activity carried by miscreants has seriously given potential for an implosion within the Kuki-Zo community, which would be seriously detrimental, particularly at such time of life-and-death situation faced by the community on daily basis.

He said: "The Kuki Zo people are presently facing serious difficulties related to threats over our land and rights. The unity forged among our people is God's blessing we must embrace in order to successfully defend ourselves."

In light of this developments, he said it is critical that internal security measure is maintained at the utmost.

KNO Information Secretary also stated that as citizens of India, the Government is taking pro-active measures to resolve the present predicament. "Our political demand for separate administration duly registered and senior government functionary are painstakingly engaged on ground and in New Delhi to bring about a settlement with constitutional safeguards," he said.

The KNO earnestly appealed to all concerned that the Kuki-Zo community would take extreme caution not to escalate the present calamity in any manner and that every effort be harnessed to maintained unity in order that the community achieve a stable, peaceful, and prosperous future in the God given ancestral land for the Kuki Zo people.
