The United Naga Council (UNC), an apex body of Nagas in Manipur, will be organizing a mass rally on August 9 in all Naga inhabited areas of Manipur, demanding early solution to the Indo-Naga peace talk.
The rally is being planned to be held at District Headquarters of Tamenglong, Chandel, Ukhrul and Senapati.
In a video message issued by the United Naga Council, Manipur, the General Secretary, Vareiyo Shatshang said the rally will be organized so as to register the Nagas’ collective sentiment to the Government of India for exercising the political will and hammer out an early solution for Indo-Naga political issue in the spirit of Framework Agreement, signed between the Government of India and NSCN (IM) on August 2015, and to usher enduring peace in Naga areas, in particular and the Northeast, in general.
The General Secretary of the United Naga Council also appealed to all the Nagas to participate in the proposed rally.
