A Church in Australia's Melbourne reached out to Internally Displaced Persons in a strife-torn Kangpokpi district in Manipur with relief materials today.
The Thadou Baptist Church in Melbourne contributed among the Church members and reached out to the Internally Displaced Persons in Kangpokpi through the Thadou Students' Association-General Headquarters, who later entrusted its Sadar Hills units to distributed the relief items to the IDPs today at TBA Centre Church, Kangpokpi.
More than two hundred Internally Displaced Persons were given the relief materials for the first phase.
TSA Sadar Hills President Paominlun Lhouvum said that the goodwill gesture of the Melbourne Thadou Baptist Church, Australia in reaching out to the Internally Displaced Persons is highly appreciated and we conveyed our sincere gratitude to all the members of the Church.
He continued that with the assistance of the Thadou Baptist Church, Melbourne the TSA Sadar Hills under the aegis of TSA General Headquarters we could give smiles to our people affected during the conflict.
He also highlighted that the TSA Sadar Hills has been continuously doing its best in alleviating the suffering of the Internally Displaced Persons since the wide-scale violence erupted on May 3.
He further said that TSA Sadar Hills will strive to work for the welfare of the Internally Displaced Persons while also focusing deeply over the education of the displaced students.
