World Kuki-Zo Intellectual Council (WKZIC) has requested the Asian Development Bank for cancellation of the sanction orders for construction of Imphal, Ring Roads Manipur, about 53 kilometers at an amount of Rs. 1,760 Crore
In a letter to the president ADB Masatsugu Asakawa on february 3, WKZIC stated that, “it will be a prudent decision to cancel the project of Manipur State which the Communal Meitei centric State government will certainly use for supporting the state Militias Viz: Arambai Tenggol, Meetei Leepun and banned valley based (Meiteis) insurgency groups and procuring Arms and Ammunition for attacking the Kuki-Zo peoples which is against the objectives of ADB to reduced poverty in Asia and the Pacific through inclusive economic growth, environmentally sustainable growth and regional integration”.
In case, the finance is release the ADB will be held responsible for aiding the communal and radicalized Manipur State Government which have been perpetrating the Kuki-Zo genocide in particular and the genocide in Manipur in general stated the letter
It is pertinent to recalled that in a very recent case the world bank had sanctioned the first instalment of 57.50 million dollars which Manipur had already misappropriated by utilizing to procured armoury vehicles, ammunition, drones and sophisticated weapons the letter stated
As such the ADB stopped payment of the next instalment in view of the ethnic conflict between the majority Meiteis and the minority Kuki-Zo Community taking place in the state says WKZIC
The WKZIC also stated that the state Government of Manipur is sponsoring the radicalized Meitei peoples to exterminate one of the minority Kuki-Zo community on account of issues pertaining to land rights, social identity, historical disputes, economic discrimination, economic disparity, human rights violations and insurgency problems.
The communal state government which is representing only the Meitei secessionist ideas openly wage war against the ethnic Kuki-Zo community since the 3rd of May, 2023 and it is still unabated stated the letter
WKZIC informed the president ADB that the said war is spreading across all the state and it even affected other tribal communities other than the Kuki-Zo community; the minority Muslims, Gorkhas, other Indian mainland migrant workers, business communities and that the collateral effects of the ethnic violence has been borne by all communities though in different measures
The Government of India has acknowledged the actual failure of its party in the State of Manipur as such it imposed an emergency rule under Article 355 of the constitution of the Union of India, it added
