The Liangmai Naga Council (LNC) has resolved to support the Naga People's Front (NPF) candidate, Kachui Timothy Zimik, for II-Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency in the upcoming 18th Lok Sabha elections.

In a statement on Saturday, the Liangmai tribe's apex body said it resolved to endorse the resolution No. 5 adopted in the Presidential Council Meeting of the United Naga Council, Manipur dated 27th October, 2023 at UNC Office Senapati District HQs, considering the bigger framework of the Naga political aspirations and political position being faced by the Naga people in the state of Manipur.

LNC stated that the decision to extend the NPF/NDA candidate was taken in the 46th Annual General Assembly of the Liangmai Naga Council on the 4th of April, 2024 at Thalon Village, Tamenglong District.

It also directed its zonal constituents as well as Village Authorities of all Liangmai villages in Manipur to sustain the resolution and leave aside political connection, individual links to any other parties, other than NPF, in the interest of Naga people.
