Lok Sabha Election: Second Batch Polling Teams Despatched In Churachandpur

The second batch of polling parties and security personnel detailed for duty at 21 polling stations of 57-Henglep AC and 15 polling stations of 60-Singhat AC have started leaving for their respective stations for the 1st phase of the General Elections to Lok Sabha 2024 from the despatch centre, Peace Ground, Tuibong, today morning.

More than 175 polling officials for 36 polling stations including 21polling stations of 57-Henglep AC and 15 polling stations of 60- Singhat AC were dispatched today. Together 56 comprising two polling personnel each of the 14 polling stations including PRO and PO-1 were airlifted along with the EVMs in an IAF chopper. The EVMs teams landed at Kukimun playground and reached their polling stations after noon today.

At the same time, polling and security teams for the 36polling stations in respect of 57-Henglep AC and 60-Singhat AC have been dispatched for their designated polling stations by road today. The remaining polling personnel will be despatched tomorrow from the same centre.

The District Election Officer (DEO/DC) Dharun Kumar oversaw the dispersal of polling teams today.

Altogether, there are 274 polling stations in the four Assembly segments of Churachandpur district. There will be two special polling stations for I-Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency in the district with about 517 electorates and 13 special polling stations for IDPs for II-Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency in the district with about 3,759 voters.

It may be mentioned that there are 78 vulnerable critical polling stations and 9 neutral polling stations of 57-Henglep AC. A total of 4 candidates are in the fray for the upcoming II-Outer Manipur Parliamentary elections namely-Kachui Timothy Zimik-NPF, Alfred Kanngam S Arthur-INC, Alyson Abonmai- Independent, and S. Kho John- Independent.

Four Assembly segments of Churachandpur district under II-Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency are among those which will go to the polls on April 19.
