A birthday girl gave up her 23rd birthday celebration to donates at relief camp in Kangpokpi

A young girl studying outside Manipur, who chose to remain anonymity, decided to drop her 23rd Birthday celebration today and rather wished to donate at a relief camp in Kangpokpi district.

The young girl from Manipur is a daughter of one of the highly regarded bureaucrats from the Kuki-Zo community who always celebrated her birthdays in the grandest way possible.

She turned 23 today but she rather decided to give up her birthday celebration and wants to donate the amount she would put in for her birthday celebration at a relief camp to help the internally displaced persons.

She then entrusted one of his uncles at Keithelmanbi Military Colony, who went to a relief and handed over the amount so that it will help them avail at least some basic requirements.

Conveying her intention to drop her birthday celebration and rather help the internally displaced persons, the young girl said that the ideas to celebrate my 23rd birthday special occasion by helping the internally displaced persons instill in my mind as I feel it is not a time for celebration when thousands of my people are suffering in pain and agony due to the current prevailing situation in Manipur.

She also said that sharing my happiness by providing some aid to my brothers and sisters who take refuge in relief camps makes me more joyous and happier on my special occasion.

"There is no better at this juncture to celebrate than by contributing and sharing with my brothers and sisters taking shelter in a relief camps who need support", the young birthday girl said.

She then conveyed her message to the people to shun violence and killing as many people have already suffered, lost their loved ones, and many families are already incomplete.

The young girl also conveyed her birthday wishes to see the Prime Minister break his silence over the turmoil in Manipur and step in not to witness more killing, more widows, more orphans by initiating measures to stop the unceasing violence.
