The Senapati District Catholic Union (SDCU) has stated that the Arambai Tenggol has egregiously insulted the sanctity of Christianity.

Strongly reacting against the hoisting of the Salai Taret flag (Meiteis' Sanamahi flag) atop a crucifix at St. George Catholic Prayer Mount in Sugnu, the Senapati District Catholic Union has stated that the Arambai Tenggol has not only perpetrated a grievous offense against a particular community but has also egregiously insulted the sanctity of Christianity itself.

"This act of sacrilege and disrespect towards the symbols of faith is utterly reprehensible and intolerable", it said in a press release issued by the Christian union on Friday. It is an assault not just on the beliefs of a specific group but on the principles of peace, tolerance, and coexistence that are fundamental to our society, added SDCU.

Denouncing the blatant attempts to incite the communal disharmony, the Catholic Union also said that sowing such seeds of discord must be vehemently condemned by all individuals and organizations who cherish the values of harmony and mutual respect.

The Senapati District Catholic Union stood in unwavering solidarity with the aggrieved community and the broader Christian  community in denouncing this despicable act and refused to remain silent in the face of such flagrant disrespect towards their religious symbol and heritage.

SDCU called upon all peace-loving individuals and organizations to join them in condemning such a heinous act and reaffirmed its commitment to upholding the dignity and sanctity of all faiths.

SDCU also urged the authorities to take swift and decisive actions against the Arambai Tenggol for their deplorable conduct and also demanded that justice must be served to ensure that such acts of religious intolerance and provocation should not be allowed to go unpunished.

The Union also called upon all concerned to reaffirm their commitment to fostering a society where all individuals are treated with dignity and respect, regardless of his or her religious belief.
