The Indigenous Tribal Leaders Forum (ITLF) on Friday notifies the general public that all the borders within Churachandpur district and Bishnupur district will be sealed for security reasons from December 23, 2023 to January 5, 2024
A public notice issued by ILF stated that they have receive intelligent input about an imminent threat by the Meitei to disrupt the Christmas season
ITLF stated that all non-tribals within the district are not allowed to move out of the district and those non-tribal from outside are not permitted to move inside the district from December 23, 2023 till January 5, 2024.
Notably, on December 21, the Home Department of the Government of Manipur issued a public notice for the deployment of additional forces Imphal-Kangpokpi-Mao highway and Imphal-Bishnupur-Churachandpur highway for the convenience and security of the people.
The Government also appointed two senior police officers to monitor the two routes wherein the convoy (trucks/vehicles) will start moving from 9:00 am onwards.
Movement of the convoy (trucks/vehicles) with the deployment of additional forces under the command of the two appointed senior police officers will be effective from December 23.
