The District Youth Congress Committee of Churachandpur celebrated the 64th Foundation Day of the Indian Youth Congress with a significant tree plantation drive in Kholmun village. The event, spearheaded by Onminlal Haokip, Secretary of the Manipur Pradesh Youth Congress, was part of a nationwide initiative themed “Planting Hope, Nurturing Change & Empowering Youth.”
As part of the nationwide campaign, the Indian Youth Congress aims to plant over 1.5 million saplings across the country.
In Churachandpur, over 500 saplings were planted, contributing to this ambitious goal.
The central event took place at New Lamka, where the Indian National Congress flag was hoisted. Attendees included Sarifa Rahman, IYC In-charge for the North East, Tajuddin Shah, Vice-President of the Manipur Pradesh Youth Congress Committee (MPYCC), Quashim, General Secretary of Administration for the Manipur Pradesh Youth Congress Committee, and T. Chawngbiak, President of the District Congress Committee.
Sarifa Rahman emphasized the importance of the drive, noting that the Youth Congress's nationwide celebration includes planting over 15 lakh saplings across eight locations in Manipur alone.
