The Churachandpur District Election Officer has dispatched 11 teams of Polling Officials today. These teams facilitated the voting process for senior citizens (80 years of age and older) and persons with disabilities within the district’s four Assembly constituencies.
The initiative, which marks the first phase of home voting, saw the Polling Teams, led by the Polling Officers, depart from the Mini-Secretariat Campus, Tuibong. The departure was carried out under the supervision of the District Election Officer (DEO), Assistant District Election Officer (ADEO), and Assistant Returning Officers (AROs).
The teams, comprising Polling Officers, photographers and 2 official staff, have embarked on their mission to reach out to 67 home voters identified across the four constituencies.
The home voting process, which began today was completed today itself.The Postal Ballots were sealed in a box in the presence of political party representatives, ADEO and AROs and was sent to Returning Officer for II- Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency at Thoubal.
Meanwhile, the third round of training for male polling personnel (Team-wise) and 16 male neutral polling teams (for frontlines) in respect of 57-Henglep (ST) and 59-Saikot Assembly Segments was held today at Churachandpur Government College, Churachandpur.
Thienlaljoy Gangte, Nodal Officer (Training Management), Lalthanzam Fimate, Nodal Officer (Man Power) and Soiminlian Lengen Nodal Officer (Postal Ballot) supervised the training sessions.
During the programme, to minimize disruptions during the voting process, Master trainers imparted hands on training of EVMs Electronic Voting Machines(EVMs) sequence from the commencement to the conclusion of polling, to PO-I, PO-II and PO-III, including proper procedures for sealing poll materials.
In the programme, there are 69 polling personnel participated. Tomorrow, 60-Singhat (ST) Assembly segments along with male special polling stations IDPs and PwD polling station will continue training and the third round of training will be going till April 16, 2024.
Four Assembly segments of Churachandpur in II-Outer Parliamentary Constituency will go to polls on April 19.
