The People's Convention, organized by Coordination Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI), on 'Chin-Kuki Narco-terrorists aggression in Manipur, India' has declared Manipuri National War against Chin-Kuki narco-terrorism.
The Convention was held at Iboyaima Sumang Leela Shanglen, Palace compound, Imphal, on Wednesday.
The People's Convention also resolved that indigenous people of Manipur should unitedly join hands to defeat the war against Chin-Kuki Narco-terrorists.
With the declaration of the war, the Convention also declared public emergency wherein people should stop any festive activities and entertainment programs except condolences and religious rituals.
The convention also resolved that the people should not lay down or surrender their arms/weapons unless Narco terrorists and external aggressors are completely wipe out from Manipur and peace prevails in Manipur.
Resolving that people would not be able to agree to the State Government's request to public to surrender their arms, the Convention instead urged that the State Government should provide arms/ weapons to the public to save Manipur.
It was further resolved that military operation should not be conducted in valley areas. Instead, the arms of Kuki terrorists must be seized as they were the aggressors.
Those who laid down their lives to defend the land from Narco terrorist/external aggressor must be declared as martyrs/ patriots and that a memorial park should also be set up for them, the Resolution stated.
It was resolved that the Manipur Government should set up a specific special village defence force to defend the villages and the land, and to form volunteers to extend support to villages which are at war.
The resolution stated that all markets should be kept open so as to supply essential commodities for the people.
The Convention further resolved that the State Government should immediately release/ handover licensed guns which were seized by the Government to the people as per the law.
