Hon’ble Justice Ajai Lamba, Chairperson of Commission of Inquiry reached Churachandpur District by chopper at 36 AR Helipad, Headquarter Veng at around 10:30 today.
The Chairperson, accompanied by the Deputy Commissioner Dharun Kumar, Superintendent of Police Karthik Malladi and other line officers, proceeded to Salt Brook School where about 118 Internally Displaced Persons are sheltered. He later visited St. Mary Higher Secondary School where about 175 Internally Displaced Persons are sheltered.
In both the relief camps, the chairperson interacted with inmates of the relief camps and explained mandates of the commission.
By 11:30 am, he interacted with the general public and CSOs and other stake holders at 36 AR, Headquarter Veng.
It may be mentioned that the Central Government appointed 3 member Commission of Inquiry consisting of Honorable Justice Ajai Lamba, former Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court as the Chairperson, Himanshu Shekhar Das, IAS (Retd) and Aloka Prabhakar, IPS (Retd) as members under the provision of the Commissions of Inquiry Act, 1952.
