The INDIA Bloc Manipur on Friday announced its common consensus candidates of Inner and Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency for the upcoming 18th Lok Sabha election.
In a media briefing held at the office of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) on Friday, president of MPCC Keisham Meghachandra declared that leaders of different parties under INDIA bloc Manipur have put their trust on candidates supported by Indian National Congress (INC) Manipur for the upcoming Lok Sabha election.
Meghachandra declared that Angomcha Bimol Akoijam and Alfred Kanngam Arthur have been chosen by the Indian National Congress to represent the INC in the Inner and Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency.
Congress Legislatures Party (CLP) leader Okram Ibobi said the decision to support the two candidates has been taken after a deliberate discussion with other like-minded political parties under INDIA Bloc.
Representatives of different political parties including president of All India Forward Bloc, Gyaneshwar; K. Manoranjan Meitei, President Revolutionary Socialist Party; representative of Aam Admi Party Bishwanath Singh; representative of National Congress Party, Iboyaima, Kshetrimayum and Santa Convenor, INDIA Bloc amongst others were present in the press briefing.
So far, besides the Manipur Congress, the Naga People’s Front (NPF) and the Communist Party of India (CPI) have already declared their candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
