Under the leadership of Dr. Vipul Kumar, IPS, Inspector General of the Manipur-Nagaland Sector CRPF, and the able supervision of Amit Kumar, Commandant of 133 Bn, CRPF, a Civic Action Programme was successfully organized yesterday at Songpehjang Kuki Relief Centre in Saikul, Kangpokpi district.
During the event, various essential items were distributed to the local community, including blankets for elderly persons, solar study lamps with batteries for students, and sports equipment such as volleyballs, volleyball net, a badminton net, rackets, and shuttlecocks. The distribution also extended to the personnel of the relief centre, as well as to residents from Songpehjang and Thankanphai villages.
Additionally, refreshments, including chocolates and tea, were shared with children and attendees, fostering a spirit of togetherness and care. Around 150 villagers, along with officers and personnel of the 133 Bn CRPF, participated in the event.
The village chief expressed sincere gratitude, highlighting the importance of such initiatives in strengthening the relationship between the community and the forces. He emphasized the positive impact these programs have on local morale. In his address, Commandant Amit Kumar assured the villagers of continued support, stressing that events like these promote better coordination and communication between the public and the forces. He also expressed hope that joint efforts would soon normalize the situation in the region.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Dr. Jay Surya, CMO (SG), Shri Bhawani Pratap Yadav, 2-I/C, Baban Kumar Singh, D/C, Neyaz Ahman, A/C, Navin Kumar, A/C, and the village chief, Lhunjang Lupheng of Songpehjang.
