CRPF Strengthens Ties with Local Communities through Civic Action Programs

Local residents have expressed their appreciation for these people-friendly initiatives and look forward to more such events in the future.

In a bid to foster goodwill and strengthen relationships between the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and local communities, two Civic Action Programs (CAP) were organized by CRPF units in Kangpokpi District, Manipur. These initiatives aimed to address local needs while improving community relations.

On January 22, 2025, the 112 Battalion CRPF held a CAP at S. Phoibung village, in the presence of senior officials including Dr. Vipul Kumar, IPS, IG, CRPF M&N Sector, Shri Manish Kumar Sachar, DIG (Ops) KPI, and Pramod Kumar Sahoo, Commandant of 112 Bn. CRPF. The event saw the attendance of around 120 villagers, with the Village Chief, Shri Mangboi Kipgen, and local authorities expressing their gratitude towards CRPF for ensuring safety and stability in the region. The Village Chief emphasized the importance of maintaining a strong relationship between local communities and the central forces.

During the program, various essential items were distributed, including football and volleyball with nets, solar lamps, school bags, and dustbins. A cultural dance and musical performances by local youth and the Gorkha community were also featured, adding a festive touch to the occasion. The Commandant of 112 Bn, CRPF, reiterated the force’s commitment to community service and expressed gratitude to the villagers for their active participation.

On January 23, 2025, another successful CAP was organized by the 30 Battalion CRPF at L. Hengjol village, located along NH 37 in Kangpokpi District. Led by Commandant Shri Virander Kumar, the program saw the distribution of essential items such as Sintex tanks, solar lamps, torches, and blankets. The event was attended by local residents and aimed to further solidify the bond between the CRPF and the surrounding community.

Both programs are part of the CRPF’s ongoing efforts to engage with and support local populations, with the hope of fostering long-lasting, positive relationships that contribute to regional stability. Local residents have expressed their appreciation for these people-friendly initiatives and look forward to more such events in the future.
