DEO Churachandpur Reviews Poll Preparedness

District Election Officer/DC, Churachandpur Dharun Kumar today reviewed preparedness for the ensuing General Election to LokSabha, 2024 at DC’s Office, Mini-Secretariat here.

During the meeting,matters relating to the ensuing election such as modus operandi for arrangement of voting facilities for IDPs/specified voters at special polling stations to be set up in relief camps, material management, manpower managements etc were discussed.

The DEO instructed District Nodal Officers/AROsto expedite their assigned tasks swiftly and ensure that the preparationsgo on smoothly. He also informed all to get prepared as elections notification may come out soon.

It may be mentioned that the Election Commission of India, after due consultation with the Central Government and State Government has directed that all displaced persons who had to leave their native places during the conflict shall continue to be borne on the electoral rolls of the assembly and parliamentary constituencies concerned.

The internally displaced electors or the specified voters shall be provided with the facility to vote at 'Special polling Stations' to be set up in relief camps.

At present the District has about 17,911 IDPs at 115 relief centres.
