In a significant milestone for the Gangte community, Seilalgou Gangte has successfully pass the prestigious National Defence Academy (NDA) examination for 2024, conducted by the UPSC, becoming the first from the Gangte community to achieved this feat. Achieving an impressive All India rank of 238 out of 395, Seilalgou's accomplishment is a source of pride for his family and community.
Seilalgou, son of retired BSF Sub-Inspector SS Gangte and Kimthienhat of Bunglon village, currently resides in D Phailien, Lamka. As the only son among three siblings, he has set a remarkable example through his academic achievements. He completed his High School education at Donbosco Hr Sec School in Lamka, securing 78.83% in 2022, and later excelled in his Class XII Science examinations at St Paul’s Institute, achieving 84.2%.
In an impressive feat, Seilalgou cracked the NDA exam on his first attempt. Recently, he also got admission for Mathematics Honours at the esteemed St Stephen’s College in Delhi.
He will now undergo a three-year training course at NDA Khadakwasla, Pune, and later a one-year course at IMA, Dehradun, before he is commissioned into the Indian Army.
