The Indian Army conducted an Ex-Servicemen (ESM) rally at Leisang village in Churachandpur district on Monday to connect with former servicemen and their families. This rally follows similar events held last month in Bishnupur and Senapati districts.

During the rally, Major General SS Kartikeya, SM, GOC Red Shield Division, emphasized various welfare measures and policies available to ex-servicemen. These include access to the online portal www.Indianarmyveterans.gov.in, services provided by the Directorate of Indian Army Veteran, education grants, penury grants, financial assistance for marriages, mobility equipment, orphan grants, aid for serious medical conditions, modified scooter grants, a 50% waiver on housing loans, opportunities through the Army Welfare Placement Organisation, and migration assistance through Sparsh.

The GOC and other officials also visited stalls set up for healthcare services and banking facilities for ex-servicemen. Additionally, they presented gifts to veterans, Veer Naris, and widows, and distributed wheelchairs to disabled veterans. The event featured performances by schoolchildren, college students, and an army pipe band.
