The four day inter School Sports Meet organised by 1st Assasm Rifles held at Sehlon village under Chandel district concluded successfully on May 25 with participation from over 200 students of different schools
Chief of Sehlon village, Thangginlal Mate issued a release on May 26 stating that the sports meet witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 200 students representing four different schools in the area which includes Sehlon Junior High School, Shining Star School, Wayang, Morning Star School, Old Samtal, and Sunrise English School, Toithung.
The release stated that the students engaged in a range of sporting disciplines such as Volleyball, Football, Track and Field, showcasing their skills and sportsmanship throughout the competition
The event also featured a captivating March Past by the participants, mesmerizing traditional dances, and an impressive pipe band performance by the 1st AR troops, adding to the festive atmosphere of the day, it added
The release stated that the villagers of Sehlon take pride in hosting such events that not only promote sports but also emphasize the importance of education and healthy competition among the youth.
