Kangpokpi: CRPF Hosts Civic Action Program to Strengthen Ties with Local Communities

Local Villagers also expressed their gratitude to CRPF for organising this CAP.

With an aim to address the needs of local villagers and strengthen the bond between SFs and the local communities, 112 Bn CRPF organised a Civic Action Program (CAP) at Phaileng Village, Kangpokpi district under AOR of C/112 Bn CRPF on 17/01/25 under the aegis of Dr. Vipul Kumar, IPS, IG, CRPF M&N Sector and the able guidance of Sh. Manish Kumar Sachar, DIG (Ops) KPI and under the over-all supervision of Sh. Promod Kumar Sahoo, Commandant, 112 Bn. CRPF.

The program was attended by the Village Chief Haominthang Kilong in the presence of Sh. PK Sahoo, Commandant 112 Bn CRPF, Sh. Manoj Prabhakar M, IPS, SP Kangpokpi, Dr. Umashankar Verma, CMO 112 Bn., Sh. Mukesh Taterway, 2ic Ops, Sh. Rajendra Prasad Raiger, Dy. Comdt., etc. About 170 villagers of Phaileng and Luwangsanggol villages attended the program.

While addressing the program, the Chief Guest lauded the role of CRPF in defending the buffer zone and also for ensuring stability and safety in the area. He also highlighted the importance of fostering a stronger sense of relations between CFs and local communities.

Speaking on the occasion, Sh. PK Sahoo, Commandant of 112 Bn, CRPF stated that CRPF will always try to strengthen relations with local communities. He also expressed his gratitude to the village Chief/ VA members and all villagers of Phaileng and Lawangsanggol for sparing their precious time for the successful conduct of the program. The Commandant also reaffirmed CRPF's commitments in serving the local communities.

During the program, sports items, (football and volley ball with nets) syntax, flexi pipes, solar lamps, school bags, dustbins etc. were distributed to the needy villagers/ beneficiaries. A cultural dance and solo were also performed/ sung by local youth club members. Free Medical Camp was also conducted on the sidelines of the event. Officials/ staff of District Malaria Office, Kangpokpi also took part in the said Medical Camp.

Local Villagers also expressed their gratitude to Sh. P. K. Sahoo Commandant 112 Bn for organising this CAP. They also praised 112 Bn CRPF for carrying out such people-friendly initiatives.
