The Kuki Inpi Sadar Hills, or KISH vehemently condemned the alleged unauthorised usage of civil helicopters by Arambai Tenggol, Manipur Police Commando, and the Meitei secessionist militia.
It stated that the blatant disregard for aviation regulations poses a serious threat to public safety, particularly in Moreh, and undermines the rule of law.
Conveying its concern regarding the helicopter services, KISH stated that the helicopter services were granted by Home Minister, Amit Shah, with an aim to aid communities, specifically the Kuki-Zo population as they cannot access the Imphal Airport.
Regrettably, it has come to our attention that despite these efforts, the Kuki-Zo community has not experienced substantial benefits from this initiative, it stated.
While calling upon the relevant authorities to investigate and take swift action against any individuals or groups involved in the unauthorised use of civil helicopters for their activities, Kuki Inpi Sadar Hills stated that such actions not only violate established aviation protocols but also jeopardize the security and well-being of the public.
It also urged the government to enforce stringent measures to prevent the misuse of civil aviation assets for unlawful purposes as it is essential to uphold the integrity of civil aviation and maintain the safety of airspace for the benefit of all citizens.
It further stated that the Kuki Inpi Sadar Hills advocated for peaceful and lawful means to address grievances, and we have been tolerant of the use of state mechanisms and resources for the atrocities committed against the Kuki-Zo community.
It also stated that the Kuki Inpi and its constituent will not be responsible for any untoward incident on civil aviation and the government will be held responsible.
