The Kuki Students Organization Delhi and NCR has demanded immediate transfer of Meetei/Meitei officers in Indian Army and Central Security Forces who are currently deployed in the state of Manipur to outside to ensure neutrality of Central Forces while stating it as a pre requisite in maintaining peace and confidence among the people.

In a release issued on Wednesday, KSO requested the government of India to intervene immediately and impose the President's Rule in Manipur given the gravity of the situation in Manipur

The release stated that the ethnic violence perpetrated against the Kuki-Zo tribals in Manipur by the Valley-based majority Meetei/Meitei militants with the support of Manipur state forces turns more deadly and lethal with each passing day. Unprecedented in the history of independent India, more than 4000 automatic weapons and 5 lakhs ammunitions have been looted from the state Armory by the Meetei/Meitei groups to unleash terror on the minority tribal populace, it added.

The student body claimed that such actions amount to treasons of the highest order posing risks for national security and threatening the very existence of Kuki-Zo tribal people.

"The visit of Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah on the May 29 2023 did little to quell the violence."

KSO also alleged that most of the media outlets are filled with hate and false narratives to justify the action of the majority Meetei/Meitei community. The student body also appealed to the media fraternity to report facts and visit Kuki-Zo affected villages in Manipur.

The release stated that the Manipur Commandos in their armoured vehicles along with the Meetei/Meitei militants march in thousands everyday to attack and burn Kuki-Zo villages, the release stated.

The student body also expressed shock that the Meetei/Meitei officers in the Indian Army joined the perpetrators on several occasions and used heavy weapons such as motors, bombs and rocket launchers to destroy Kuki-Zo villages in Sugnu area of Chandel district.

KSO also alleged that the central forces such as the BSF are manipulated to fight along with Meetei/Meitei militants in attacking Kuki-Zo Villages.

In one such incident, Ct/GD Ranjit Yadav 163 Bn BSF lost his life when he was shot from behind by the Meetei/Meitei militants which is really sad and unfortunate, the release added.

The Meeteis/Meiteis are trying hard to blame the Kukis for their heinous crime, alleged KSO while adding that the use of heavy weapons against Kuki-Zo villages must be immediately stopped.

The student body further appealed to the people of India to speak out and put pressure on the Union government to act for cessation of hostilities and violence in Manipur at the earliest.
