Even as the Union Home Minister's scheduled visit to violent-hit Manipur on May 29, 2023, the Meiteis extremists rampant onslaughts on Kuki-Zo community continued unabated in the capital city- Imphal.

The Kuki Inn (Kuki Independence War Memorial Complex) located in the heart of the city, about 300 metres away from the Chief Minister's Bungalow, was torched and burnt to ashes in late night yesterday, by the Meitei mobs and extremists groups. The Meitei radicalised groups also burnt down the remaining several houses belonging to the Kuki-Zo tribes in Imphal areas, which were left out of arson in the beginning of the ethnic violence.

As the alleged ethnic cleansing pogrom continues since the violence broke out on May 3, 2023, the Meiteis armed groups- Arambai Tenggol, Meitei Leepun and others again looted a large number of arms and ammunitions from State security forces.

As per ITLF Bulletin published on Monday, the cadres of Arambai Tenggol couped 7 Battalion of Manipur Rifle (MR), 8 Bn. of Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB) located at Khabeisoi and 6 IRB Panggei, and looted a large number of arms and ammunitions.

Mentioned may be made that more than 1,000 weapons and 10,000 rounds were looted from Manipur Police Training College, two police stations, and an IRB battalion camp in Imphal by Meities a day after the outbreak of alleged ethnic cleansing perpetrated by the Meiteis on May 3.

It was suspected that the looted weapons were supposed to be used by the majority community in attacking minority tribals in vulnerable areas of strife-torn Manipur.

In another incident, Central security forces apprehended 3 persons with sophisticated arms and ammunition in Imphal, near City Convention in Palace Compound, on 28th of May, at around 7:00 pm.

As per reports, an Insas rifle with magazine, sixty rounds of 5.56mm ammunition, one Chinese hand grenade and one detonator were recovered from their possession. The three arrested miscreants with weapon and ammunition had been handed over to Manipur Police, the report stated.
