In a grave condemnation, the Kuki Inpi Jiribam, Tamenglong, and Noney (KIJTN), representing the Kuki tribes in the region, has decried the horrifying killing of Mrs. Zosangkim of Zairon Village, Jiribam, who was allegedly shot and later burned beyond recognition on November 7. The Kuki Inpi has condemned what it describes as a "barbaric act" committed by Meetei militants, underscoring the atrocity as a severe crime against humanity that demands the attention and condemnation of all conscientious citizens.

In a statement from its head office in Phaitol Village, Tamenglong District, KIJTN expressed outrage over reported attacks led by Meetei militants alongside members of the Arambai Tenggol on the predominantly Kuki village of Zairon. The attack reportedly led to the torching of over 16 homes, despite the deployment of heavy security forces in the area. Kuki Inpi has sharply criticized what it calls “the tacit support” of government forces in allowing such violence, alleging that these armed groups were able to bypass security checkpoints en route to the village.

KIJTN pointed out that the Kuki Inpi has worked tirelessly over the past year to foster peace in Jiribam, only for its efforts to be shattered by escalating violence, including the recent killing of Mr. Seigoulen Singson of Phaitol. Decrying the relentless assaults as a deliberate attempt to ignite conflict, the Kuki Inpi is urging authorities to deliver justice swiftly and to implement an equitable resolution to prevent further bloodshed.
