The Kuki Inpi Manipur or KIM, the apex body of the Kuki tribes, categorically asserted that the ceaseless violence in Manipur is unmistakably part of the well-designed plan of the majority Meitei's "War of Independent Country" to secede from the Union of India.
This, according to the Kuki Inpi Manipur, can be proven by the revelation of Moirangthem Anand Singh, who was recently arrested by the National Investigation Agency in a case related to a Transnational Conspiracy by Myanmar-based leadership of terror outfits to wage a war against the Government of India by exploiting the current ethnic unrest in Manipur.
Moirangthem Anand Singh (45), son of (L) Achou Singh of Singjamei Makha Sorokhaibam Leikai is initially a trained People's Liberation Army (PLA) cadre who later joined the Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) Noyon group.
According to Manipur Police, Moirangthem Anand Singh was arrested six times in 1997, 2001, 2002, 20024, 2005, and 2009 while he was with the PLA, and he was once again arrested after joining the KCP (Noyon) group in 2010.
Recently, on September 16, he was arrested along with four others with sophisticated weapons, but released on bail a few days later a lot with the four others. However, the NIA rearrested him in a case related to a transnational conspiracy case and brought him to New Delhi.
The specialized counter-terrorism law enforcement agency, the NIA investigation revealed that in furtherance of the conspiracy hatched by the leadership based in Myanmar of insurgent groups/proscribed terrorist organizations are recruiting Over Ground Workers (OGWs), cadres, and sympathizers to augment the strength to carry out attacks on security forces and opposing ethnic groups by exploiting current unrest in the state Manipur, and for this purpose, they are collecting arms, ammunitions, and explosive by unlawful means, including plunder and pillage of Government facilities and resources.
KIM Information and Publicity Secretary, Janghaolun Haokip said that the recent arrest of Moirangthem Anand Singh by the NIA has uncovered the well-established conspiracy of the banned Meitei militant outfits to secede from the Union of India.
He said that there is no doubt that the conspiracy has been in existence which is evident in the certain anti-national characters of these terror outfits operating mainly from within Myanmar.
"These banned outfits are constantly raising propaganda in the name of freedom against India and are involved in carrying out several brutal attacks against the Indian security forces in their pursuit to secede from India and ultimately establish their long-cherished Meitei Kingdom, better known as "Kangleipak" - the land of the Meiteis", he asserted.
However, the KIM leader said that the crux of the matter lies in the alleged influx of these banned militant outfits into the Imphal valley, immorally facilitated by the N. Biren Singh-led state Government, and supported by the Meitei community to terrorize the Kuki-Zo ethnic minorities.
He also said that the complicity of the state Government is evident in the fact that these terror outfits are working in tandem with the state security forces in disrupting the duty of the central security forces and subsequently carrying out brutal attacks against the Kuki-Zo settlements causing untold damage to life and properties.
He also pointed out that the Meiteis, led by the CSOs, especially, the Meira Paibis are constantly shielding these militant outfits from conviction and prosecution under the laws of the land and allowing them to carry out well-orchestrated attacks against the minority Kuki-Zo community.
"It is unmistakable that there is a collusion of banned Meitei terror outfits, the State Government, and the radicalized Meiteis who are now carrying out a well-planned ethnic cleansing against the Kuki-Zo people, which is an imminent threat to the national security besides effecting an existential crisis for the Kuki-Zo people", he averred.
Haokip then said that, in the face of these threats, the Kuki-Zo people are compelled to reiterate our demand for separate administration under the purview of the Constitution and expedite the talks with the SoO groups for a permanent political solution for the Kuki-Zo people.
