Manipur's Outer MP Alfred Kanngam S. Arthur Chairs District-Level DISHA Meeting in Kangpokpi

He urged all departments to work in close coordination to address challenges and expedite development efforts.

Outer Manipur (ST) Lok Sabha MP Alfred Kanngam S. Arthur led a crucial District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting today at LNC Hotel, Kangpokpi Headquarters, marking a significant step in reviewing and accelerating development initiatives in the region.

The high-level review meeting, aimed at assessing the progress of key government schemes and programs, was attended by Deputy Commissioner Mahesh Chaudhari, IAS, who also serves as the Member Secretary of the committee.

Various departments, including the Public Works Department (PWD), Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), Horticulture, District Industries Centre, Veterinary, Information & Technology, District Supply Office, Ministry of Women & Child Development (ICDS), District Health Society, and Agriculture & Farmer Welfare, presented comprehensive reports on their activities and achievements, providing a clear picture of the district’s developmental landscape.

Government schemes and projects across multiple sectors were scrutinized, with special attention given to crucial areas such as healthcare, education, infrastructure, agriculture, and rural employment.

MP Alfred Kanngam S. Arthur emphasized the need for transparency, efficiency, and timely execution of these projects to ensure that benefits reach the grassroots level. He urged all departments to work in close coordination to address challenges and expedite development efforts.

The MP also highlighted the importance of bifurcating data based on block-wise allocation to enhance resource distribution and utilization. Additionally, he urged officials to expedite pending cases to facilitate timely and efficient decision-making.

His visit and leadership in the DISHA meeting reaffirmed the government’s commitment to equitable growth, ensuring that Outer Manipur, particularly Kangpokpi district, receives its due share of development and progress.

The meeting concluded with a strong resolution to enhance governance and implementation efficiency, paving the way for a more prosperous and sustainable future for the people of the district.

The review meeting was attended by several dignitaries, including Lok Sabha MP Saptagiri Sankar Ulaka, Kangpokpi Deputy Commissioner Mahesh Chaudhari (IAS), Superintendent of Police Manoj Prabhakar (IPS), Additional District Magistrate/ADC N. Shokhonam Baite (MCS), SDO T-Waichong Hemant Kumar (IAS), CEO SH-ADC Doujapao Haokip (MCS), and AC to DC & SDO Champhai Lamminlal Simte (MCS), along with other district-level officials and senior officers.
