MPSC should not repeat its past mistake in the appointment of 43 posts of Jr. MCS/SDC: ATSUM

The All Tribal Students' Union Manipur (ATSUM) anticipated the MPSC shall not commit its past again in the appointment of 43 Junior MCS/SDC.

The student body appreciated the state government for its prompt and decisive action to address the shortfall in Sub-Deputy Collectors/Jr. MCS by appointing a further 43 posts from the merit list of the 2016 (2022) MCSCCE exam.

It stated that the lack of administrative staff has led to severe problems of administrative inefficiency in the state, as the last successful recruitment was conducted in 2014, a gap of nine years.

It also stated that indeed, the MCSCCE 2016 Saga has brought many hardships to the candidates who have appeared and reappeared every stage of the exam., i.e. prelims, mains, and personality test twice between 2016 and 2022, with some having even been terminated from confirmed service after two and half years of service, for reasons of irregularities not attributed to the candidates but the MPSC and its rule.

It continued that this peculiar and exceptional chain of events has never been observed anywhere else in the country, hence it deserves all special consideration.

Henceforth, we hope the MPSC would not repeat its mistake, it added and stated that we believe that the addition of 43 seats not only helps in strengthening the state administration but provides some justice and relief to the candidates who have appeared in the same exam twice over.

Concurrently, we appeal to the government that the officials responsible for the fiasco of MCSCCE 2016, should be brought to justice at the earliest, and provide relief to the innocent, ATSUM stated.
