Myanmar: Military Junta conducts air strike near Indian border region

The Myanmar Junta Government on Friday conducted military Airstrike at Pantha (Panda) village, near Indian border early this morning, thereby injuring seven individuals from the pro-democracy armed groups.

Sources said that the injured 7 persons were evacuated to the nearest medical centre. The incident site is not far from India - Myanmar border pillar No.74.

Panda village is situated under the Tamu Township of Myanmar along the Asian Highway. The pro-democracy armed groups were said to have active in Tamu - Khampat section of Asian Highway in Myanmar. The area is the stronghold of PDF and allied forces.

Meanwhile, the pro-democracy armed group, the People's Defence Force (PDF) attacked Junta forces who were stationed at Namphalong bridge near Indian border. The spot is located close to India-Myanmar Friendship Bridge and is not far from Border Pillar No.77. Sounds of bomb blast and gun shots were also heard in Moreh town (India's last border town in Manipur's Tengnoupal district). 4-members of "Pyu Saw Htee" were killed in the incident. "Pyu Saw Htee" is a Myanmar Army backed militia group.

Following the incident, the Border Guard Forces (BGF), i.e., 5 Assam Rifles took up preventive measures and blocked roads and routes along the border trail. To save public from stray bullets, the BGF (5 AR) has prevented the public from using the said routes.
