The Security Advisor of Manipur, Kuldiep Singh, has affirmed that the State government has no confirmation regarding presence of Myanmar-based militants in Moreh violent incidents.

He said, "Whatever happening in Moreh is because of the Village Volunteers along with militants."

The security advisor was responding to allegations made by the Meitei journalists that Myanmar-based militia along with SoO signatory are responsible for the latest developments in Moreh.

Kuldiep Singh said, "The militants and the village volunteers are trying to evict the police commandos who are there in Moreh. Time and again, they have been told that the state forces cannot be told to be evicted from any places wherever the state government wants to sent them."

"As far as Myanmar-based militants are concerned, we do not have any such confirmation. But there is an information that miscreants or militants from nearby areas, may be from Churachandpur, Chandel or Tengnoupal, have assembled there, which is yet to be confirmed”.

Meanwhile, the Convener of the Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI), a valley-based Meitei organisation, Jeetendra Ningomba has alleged that there is total failure of security arrangement in the State since the Security Advisor who do not have proper knowledge about the geographical area of the State is appointed as the security advisor.

Speaking at the sideline of a public protest against the appointment of Kuldeep Singh on Thursday, Jeetendra said that a qualified person who has better knowledge about the State should be appointed as the security advisor of the State.
