Oasis College’s new campus in Kangpokpi inaugurated

The new campus of Oasis College in Japhal Veng, Ward No.9 in Kangpokpi District Headquarters was inaugurated amid prompt and joviality.

With a motto, “Impart, Empower, Transform” the college was established in 2023 as an outreach institute of advanced studies and scientific research for inspired living and social transformation.

The College is accredited to Martin Luther Christian University, Shillong and it is managed by Inpi Educational Trust under the aegis of Kuki Research Forum (KuRF).

The College offered courses in Diploma in Allied Health Sciences, BA Courses on Political Science, History, English, Sociology and Economics, Diploma in Foreign Languages, Diploma in Vocational Courses.

It also offered free admission for Internal Displaced Persons under Special Offer.

Earlier, the College Administrative office was located at Keithelmanbi Military Colony but now it has shifted to its new campus at Zaphal Veng, Ward No.9 in Kangpokpi District Headquarters.

The inaugural ceremony of the college of new campus was attended by Haokholal Hangshing, Caretaker Chairman, ADC Sadar Hills as Guest of Honour while Rev. Seiboi Kipgen attended as the Dedicating Minister apart from other distinguished guests.

Extending his gratitude, Haokholal Hangshing encouraged the board members to make the college to be a change maker for the students community and the district.

Apart from contributing a token of appreciation, the land of the college’s new campus was also donated by Haokholal Hangshing and family.

Thanglensei Kipgen, Kuki Inpi Sadar Hills, Angam Leivon, Chairman, Kangpokpi Town Committee (KTC); Lamminlun Singsit, Secretary CoTU, Rev. K. Sitlhou, President, SHIPS, and Principal, 2in1 Omega Public School and Kindergarten, Motbung; Tongkhohao Kipgen, Chairman, TC College of Teacher Education, and Jampu Kipgen, Principal Elite Higher Secondary, Kangpokpi also delivered inspiring message on the occasion.

The inaugural ceremony was also attended by representatives of various organizations and institutions of Kangpokpi such as Kuki Inpi Manipur, CoTU, Kuki Inpi Sadar Hills, KCLF, CoTU Prayer Cell, Sadar Hills Private Schools Association (SHIPS), Kanggui Christan College, TC College of Teachers Education, principals of various higher schools, proprietors of selected clinics and hospitals, Oasis College Management Board Members, faculty and students.

Dr. Thathang Vaiphei, Chairman Oasis College Management Board and Dr Ruth Nengneilhing, Vice-Principal, Oasis College, delivered the keynote address and vote of thanks respectively, and the event was smartly moderated by Dr. Onkholun Haokip, Controller of Examination with Thanglenmang Kipgen, Students Dean, as the recording secretary.

While Rev. Fr. Jangkhogin Chongloi, Secretary KTCF offered the invocation prayer, Rev. Kaikhothang Singsit, Pastor TBA Centre Church Kangpokpi, concluded the program with a word of prayer.

A melodious gospel rendition presented by Chochoi, a second-semester student marked the occasion.
