PM Modi Virtually Inaugurates JNV Kangpokpi Building

February 20, 2024 marked the most auspicious and historic day for the people of Sadar Hills Kangpokpi district in the education sector when Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated the permanent site-building of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) Senapati-II Kangpokpi in the presence of Dr. Lorho S Pfoze, MP Outer Manipur who attended the physical inauguration ceremony as Chief Guest and Haokholet Kipgen, MLA Saitu AC, and Mahesh Chaudhari, IAS, Deputy Comissioner Kangpokpi.

Manipur's lone woman senior Minister Nemcha Kipgen was immensely lauded by all during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's virtual inauguration of the JNV Senapati-II Kangpokpi building today.

Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) Senapati-II Kangpokpi building was among the 13 new Navodaya Vidyalayas buildings across the country the Prime Minister had virtually inaugurated today.

Apart from the school Principal to the teaching and non-teaching staff, the CSO's leaders, village chiefs, parents, and guardians, Dr. Lorho S Pfoze, MP Outer Manipur who attended the physical inauguration as Chief Guest eminently lauded Minister Nemcha Kipgen, the master brain behind the setting up of JNV Senapati-II Kangpokpi during the inaugural event.

The Minister was also given a benefiting round of applause by the gathering though she could not attend the event owing to the party's national conference at New Delhi.

Considered the "Mother of Equality Education" the local MLA Nemcha Kipgen, who is also the Minister for Textiles, Commerce and Industry and Cooperation, Government of Manipur had on February 17, 2014, formally inaugurated the JNV Senapati-II Kangpokpi at its temporary site near DC Kangpokpi office in Kangpokpi District Headquarters.

The JNV Senapati-II Kangpokpi is now located at its permanent site at Kholjang village under Kangpokpi Assembly Constituency where the Prime Minister had virtually inaugurated its building considered the best among the JNVs in Manipur and North East.

Following the virtual inauguration by the Prime Minister, Dr. Lorho S Pfoze unveiled the monolith after cutting the ribbon to mark the physical inauguration of the JNV Senapati-II Kangpokpi building.

Congratulating the people of Sadar Hills Kangpokpi, Dr. Lorho S Pfoze said that Minister Nemcha Kipgen is instrumental in bringing one of the most prestigious education institutions of the country here at Kangpokpi to provide good quality, modern education.

The MP also lauded the Minister for choosing the best site for the construction of the building at the beautiful place of Kholjang village while anticipating that the beauty of the site and the institution will be definitely put to the best use.

While highlighting that the JNV Senapati-II Kangpokpi at Kholjang has the best infrastructure among the JNVs in Manipur and the North East, MP Dr. Lorho S Pfoze inspired the student community to emulate Prime Minister Narendra Modi's hard work, consistency, no turning back but looking forward attitude, positivity, to overcome what others could not do, never give up attitude, and to aim higher even after success to become not only a successful but a great personality from a humble and ordinary beginning.

Speaking to the media, the Principal of JNV Senapati-II Kangpokpi, PS Yadav said that the school was started at its temporary site near DC Kangpokpi with only 40 students in 2013 and it shifted to its permanent site in August 2023.

He continued that the school has now more than 152 students from Class VI to X and we will shortly start Class XI this year.

He also said that the JNV Senapati-II Kangpokpi has one of the best-required infrastructures among the JNVs in the state including an academic building consisting of fourteen classes, three laboratories, a library, an MI room, a dining hall that can accommodate more than 500 students, separate hostel for boys and girls, etc.

Conveying heartfelt gratitude to Minister Nemcha Kipgen, Principal PS Yadav said that Minister Nemcha Kipgen is such an inspiring lady and a very instrumental person in setting up the school while adding that she did not leave even a single stone unturned in being the Vidyalaya here in Kangpokpi.

The Principal also thanked the noble contribution of the people of Kholjang and its village head for donating such a huge piece of land for the construction of the Vidyalaya to frame the future of the children in the field of education.

He said that Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya is a Co-Ed school affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and is managed by Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti.

It aims to provide good quality modern education-including a strong component of culture, inculcation of values, awareness of the environment, adventure activities, and physical education- to the talented children predominantly from rural areas without regard to their family's socio-economic conditions, he added.

Hemang Singsit, a prominent educationist in the region recalled the journey of establishing the Vidyalaya with Minister Nemcha Kipgen as the backbone for the establishment.

He said that considering the importance of good quality modern education in the rural area, Minister Nemcha Kipgen through thick and thin, running from pillar to post, knocking on every door, and leaving no stone unturned finally fulfilled the aspiration and dreams of the people of Sadar Hills Kangpokpi.

Cultural dance and song from Vidyalaya students, and a screening of the virtual inauguration by Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked the occasion while Pastor Paogoulen Sitlhou, Superintendent Pastor of Thadou Baptist Association India performed the physical dedication of the Vidyalaya.

It is worth mentioning that in a significant step towards upgrading and developing education and skilling infrastructure across the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of several projects worth about Rs 13,375 crore apart from inaugurating 20 new buildings for Kendriya Vidyalaya (KVs) and 13 new Navodaya Vidyalayas (NVs) buildings across the nation.
