The Socialist Students' Union Manipur (SSUM) has alleged corrupt practices in the recruitment process of Nurses and Multi-tasking staff for engaging in the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal.
Briefing to the media at its office Imphal on Sunday, President of SSUM S. Yaima said, “People have been talking about how 60 to 70 lakhs have been accepted as bribe for recruitment of Nurses and Rs. 20 to 30 Lakhs for Multi-tasking staff.”
He said that amidst the call and steps taken by the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi to eradicate corruption, there are possibilities that the claims and allegation made by the people regarding corruption in the recruitment of RIMS could be true.
The students' union said that it would send a letter to the Prime Minister’s office and the concerned Ministry to investigate the matter. It also appealed to the public to inform the SSUM office if they found any information regarding corrupt practices in the recruitment process.
The SSUM President further informed that the students' union is preparing to organise a public meeting to eradicate corruption and drugs in the State.
