Tadubi MLA N. Kayisii Passes Away, Condolence pours in

He represented the people of Tadubi AC for two consecutive terms in 2017 and 2022.

MLA of 49 -Tadubi Assembly Constituency, N. Kayisii passed away on Saturday at his residence in imphal after prolonged illness.

As per media reports, N Kayisii, who was also the state president of the National People's Party (NPP) had been receiving treatment for stomach cancer at the Tata Memorial Cancer Hospital in Mumbai since February last year.

N. Kayisii represented the people of Tadubi Assembly Constituency in the Manipur Legislative Assembly for two consecutive terms, after winning the elections to the Manipur Legislative Assembly in 2017 and 2022.

In a condolence message Chief minister of Manipur N.Biren Singh stated that Kayisii had served the people of the State as the Minister of Tribal Affairs and Hills and Fisheries Department.

Biren stated that Kayisii's tenure as MLA not only marked his sincere commitment for the development of his constituency, but also witnessed significant contribution toward solving many issues faced by the State.

Kayisii's demise is not only a loss for his family, but an irreparable loss for the entire State and the void created by his demise would be extremely difficult to fill, he stated.

In a Facebook post, member of Parliament and titular king of Manipur Leishemba Sanajaoba wrote," Deeply saddened at the untimely passing away of Shri N Kayisii Mao, Hon'ble MLA Tadubi Assembly Constituency, Manipur. His demise is a great loss for the state. My condolences to the bereaved family, friends & relatives and also share the same pains & sorrows. May his soul rest in peace"

In his official facebook page, Chief Minister of Meghalaya Conrad Sangma wrote, "I am deeply saddened by the passing of Shri N. Kayisii, President of the NPP Manipur State Unit and MLA of Makhan Khuman Tadubi Constituency" .

Sangma added that Kayisii’s demise is a tremendous loss to the people of Manipur, particularly Makhan Khuman Tadubi Constituency, and to the entire NPP family.

The NPP chief wrote, "We have lost an able leader who was truly a man of the masses. As I recall my warm association with him, I am deeply indebted to Kayisii for his leadership and invaluable contributions. During this difficult time, I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and supporters. May his soul rest in eternal peace.",

H S Benjamin Mate in a facebook post wrote," shocked and saddened to hear the sudden demise of our respected leader Pu N Kayisii Mao Hon'ble MLA & State President of NPP Manipur".

Benjamin stated that Kayisii was a cool and soft spoken gentleman and a good political leader among the Manipur Tribal.

In a condolence message, the Mao Students' Union (MSU) termed Kayisii's departure as an end of an era, leaving behind an unparalleled legacy of service and dedication to the people.

The union pointed out that Kayisii was more than a representative and he was a true servant of the people.

MSU stated: "His tireless efforts to uplift society, foster unity, and promote development made him a pillar of hope and a source of inspiration for all who knew him."

Kayisii's leadership was defined by a rare combination of compassion, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to the betterment of the society.

The MLA led with integrity, inspired with his vision and as such his loss is not only a loss for his family and the community but for the entire state, MSU added.
