The Tangkhul Naga Zingsho Longphang (TNZL), a sub-body of the apex Tangkhul Naga organization, Tangkhul Naga Long, has strongly condemned the arson that took place in Gampal and Haijang hamlets under Sahamphung Block, Kamjong District, on April 23.
In a statement issued on April 25, the Tangkhul Naga Zingsho Longphang expressed its condemnation of the incident and urged all stakeholders to actively promote peaceful coexistence and foster harmonious relations in the area.
"It is with profound sorrow and indignation that the Tangkhul Naga Zingsho Longphang (TNZL) condemns the arson that resulted in the burning of around 20 houses in Gampal and Haijang hamlets under Sahamphung Block, Kamjong District, on April 23, 2025, by unidentified miscreants," the TNZL stated.
The organization emphasized that the two communities in the area have coexisted peacefully and that any attempt to disrupt this harmony or damage the cordial relationship between them is unacceptable.
The TNZL earnestly appealed to all concerned not to spread false propaganda that could jeopardize peaceful coexistence or provoke unrest by exploiting this unfortunate incident.
TNZL further stated that it stands in solidarity with the affected families and expresses heartfelt concern for their loss of property and shelter.
