A devastating landslide in Dimthanlong Village, Tamenglong District, has claimed the lives of Duanjangliu Kamei, 28, and her 2-year-old son. The incident occurred at Tamenglong Ward No. 3, near Tamenglong College, around 11:30 PM on Monday.
The landslide destroyed the family's house, leaving the father, Ringsinlung Kamei, a police constable with the Manipur Police Department, severely injured. He has been transferred to a hospital in Imphal, where he remains in critical condition. Ringsinlung’s brother, Chungkaingam Kamei, a Class 9 student, also sustained minor injuries.
Following the tragedy, District Commissioner Angshim, along with senior police officials, religious leaders, and CSO leaders, visited the scene to offer their support and condolences to the affected family. The community is rallying around the Kamei family during this difficult time.
