TSA Honours SAFF U-16 Champion’s Captain, Local Journo on its Foundation Day

On the occasion of its 29th Foundation Day, the Thadou Students’ Association Sadar Hills honoured the Blue Colt Captain who recently lifted the SAFF U-16 Championship trophy at Thimphu, Bhutan and a local senior Journalist while launching a campaign on education christened, “Themjil khohsah ute” which means let’s give importance on education.

The TSA’s Foundation Day was observed at JN Public School Kangpokpi with the distribution of meritorious awards, launching of a campaign on children’s education, and career counselling for displaced students as the main highlight of the event.

Acknowledging the roles of media and the priceless contribution of journalists in society, the TSA Sadar Hills honoured Kaybie Chongloi, a local senior journalist for his immense contribution in the field of Journalism for the past almost twenty years.

Appreciating his tireless efforts and immense contribution, TSA Sadar Hills President Paominlun Lhouvum said that good journalists like Kaybie Chongloi help keep people informed, positively shape public discourse on important topics, and provide a platform for people and ideas that the public might not otherwise hear about.

The student body also while recognising the huge contribution of Ngamhouhao Mate in bringing fame and laurels for the nation in general and the community in particular in the SAFF U-16 championship honoured him with meritorious awards.

Since the Blue Colt Captain had already left for Shillong for preparation of the AFC U-17 Championship, his uncle received the award on his behalf.

The student body also launched a campaign called “Themjil Khohsah Ute” on the occasion to instil and promote the importance of education among the people and devote more towards children’s education.

Study materials were also distributed to students under TSA’s “Themjil Khohsah Ute” during the event.

As part of the Foundation Day observation, TSA Sadar Hills also conducted career counselling for displaced students where Dr. Helun Touthang and Kaybie Chongloi attended as the resource persons.

Highlighting the tireless contribution of TSA since its inception in 1994 for the welfare of the student community and society, TSA Sadar Hills President Paominlun Lhouvum paid tribute to all the deceased founding members of the Thadou Students’ Association and conveyed heartfelt gratitude to all well-wishers, intellectuals, like-minded individuals and various other student bodies and civil society organisations for the support and cooperation towards the TSA Sadar Hills.
