The Indigenous Tribal Leaders' Forum's (ITLF) ultimatum to rescind the suspension order of Head Constable Siamlalpaul and replace Superintendent of Police Shivanand Surve and Deputy Commissioner S. Dharun Kumar has concluded with no action taken by the authorities.

Despite the expiration of the 24-hour ultimatum set by the ITLF, no steps have been taken to cancel the suspension order of Head Constable Siamlalpaul or replace the Superintendent of Police, Shivanand Surve, and Deputy Commissioner S. Dharun Kumar in Lamka district, Manipur.

In response, ITLF announced that all state government offices within Lamka district will remain closed from Monday, February 19, 2024, until further notice. It also instructed employees to refrain from reporting to work, with potential consequences for those who do.

Additionally, the burial of the two martyrs from the Wall of Remembrance Massacre has been postponed until a mutually agreeable resolution is reached.

The ITLF's actions underscore the escalating tensions in the region and the dissatisfaction with the handling of recent events by local authorities.
