The Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament (VBYP) 2025 was organised today at Tamenglong College with Dr. L. Angshim Dangshawa, IAS, DC Tamenglong and N. Abonpou Christopher, MES, ZEO Tamenglong, as Special Guests, and Dr. Kinthuijinang Maremmei, Principal, Tamenglong College, as the Functional President.
The district-level Youth Parliament held deliberations on the topic: “One Nation, One Election: Paving the Way for Viksit Bharat” from youths of Tamenglong and Jiribam districts who were shortlisted from the 251 candidates registered in the MyBharat portal.
In his speech, Dr. K. Maremmei appreciated the participants and encouraged them by highlighting the significance of “Viksit Bharat” or “Developed India” which is one of the visions set by the Government of India to be achieved in 2047, the centenary year of India’s independence. He also wishes all the contestants the very best and urged them to strive for excellence in their future careers.
Towards the end of the deliberations, 10 (ten) youths were shortlisted to represent the district in the state level VBYP to be held later this month. Among the top-10, Ms. Changkhanliu Ngaomei, B.Sc 2nd Semester, Tamenglong College; Ms. Pamei Genevieve Gaikanpou, BA 3rd Semester, Tamenglong College, and Mr. Jukthanlung Gonmei, BA 6th Semester, Tamenglong College, were declared as the Best, Second Best, and Third Best Parliamentarians, respectively, and were awarded accordingly.
According to a press statement released by Ngamtinlun Touthang, IT Nodal Officer and Member of the Organising Committee, the Five Jury Members include: D. Meidinbui, MCS, SDO, Tamenglong; Daichui Gangmei, President, RNSOM; Shinning Panmei, Chairman RNSOM, Tamenglong Luangrian; NG Tuakeulung, Asst. Professor & Head, Dept. of English, Tamenglong College, and Shri Daidatlung Kameih, Asst. Professor & Head, Dept. of Sociology, Tamenglong College.
It may be noted that the event is being organised by Organising Committee VBYP 2025 and NSS Unit, Tamenglong College, in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) under the aegis of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.
