The Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI), a civil society organization based in Imphal valley, has alleged that the Indian Army had influenced Editors’ Guild of India (EGI) to to publish the most biased and baseless fact-finding report.

It claimed that the EGI fact-finding team’s report indicated a deep nexus between the Indian Army influencing the ‘press media’s cheapest editors’ body in the world’ to work beyond their ethical practices and making the Narco-Terror Fund to sponsor their trip to Imphal through their Narco-Terrorist Agencies called ITLF Media Cell.

In its press release issued on Tuesday, COCOMI reacted to the fact finding report of the EGI team, stating that the recent revelation on the matter of the Editor’s Guild of India (EGI), in relation to their controversial fact finding report, has been revealed as a more serious conspiracy in driving the Manipur conflict for so long.

The CSO stated that as per the letter submitted to the Supreme Court of India by EGI’s counsel and their earlier statements and letters and official Twitter social media post, the visit of EGI as a Fact Finding Team was invited by the Indian Army to make report on Manipur violence. Later, the EGI issued a statement appealing for crowd funding to meet their expenses to travel to Manipur from Delhi and the EGI in its official Twitter handle post, dated 6 September at 10:40 am thanking ITLF Media Cell for their donations which they later on deleted tagging ITLF Media Cell (Screen shot of the original post is in COCOMI’s possession), it stated.

Claiming that the entire Nation has called the EGI report as ‘Fake-Finding Report of Editors Guilt (not Guild) of India after reading the report, COCOMI stated that such collusion among the India Army, Editor’s Guild and Chin-Kuki Narco-Terrorist Groups like ITLF is beyond doubt now and it must be dealt with firm hands.

COCOMI warned that it could not remain silent on such conspiracies and all the three parties must be held equally responsible for all the fake reports and biased attitude towards the Meitei and the crime committed towards the innocent indigenous Meitei people.

“It is now very clear that, all the violence happening in Manipur has been carried out by Chin Kuki Narco-Terrorist groups in collusion with various security agencies and sponsored by Narco-terror fund through their Narco-Terror Agencies like ITLF and their money bag has reached several agencies and personalities including Editor’s Guild of India,” COCOMI stated

The valley-based CSO also alleged that EGI visiting on Indian Army’s request/invitation being sponsored by ITLF Media Cell fund meant the real ghost could be certain corrupt Indian Army officials and EGI became a propaganda wing of Narco-Terrorist aggression with fund generated from the New Golden Triangle in Manipur.

“If the Government of India fails to take up immediate action against all the agencies and responsible persons involved in the crime, COCOMI have no other option other than to use all its might empowered by the people of Manipur to fight till justice is delivered to the people very soon,” it added.
