The Kuki Inpi Tengnoupal District vehemently condemned the alleged beastly nature and atrocities of the Manipur Police Commandos upon the innocent citizens of Moreh hill town in the aftermath of an unfortunate incident where Chingtham Anand Kumar, MPS, SDPO Moreh, was killed by unknown miscreants on November 31.

In a statement issued on Friday, the Kuki apex body of the district stated that the Manipur Police have gone wild and rampaged on the Kuki-Zo villages of Sinam, Chikim, Govajang, New Leikot, Tinnu Munjang, Canan Veng, Phaicham Veng etc. all within Tengnoupal District.

“In the name of combing operation, the Manipur commandos accompanied by Arambai Tenggol thieves powered by Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh were on looting spree in Moreh town and surrounding. The Manipur Police Commandos beat, tortured and harassed the public irrespective of gender or age. They also act to the extent of snatching the valuable ornaments from the hand, neck and ear of the victims,” KIT said.

“The cruel actions of the Meitei Police and Arambai hooligans forced the Kuki-Zo tribals of Moreh flee to safety towards the Indian Army camps, thereby proving that the Meitei Police have come to carry out ‘genocidal mission’ on the Kuki-Zo tribals and not for maintaining of law and order at all,” it alleged, adding that the Chief Minister N Biren Singh’s ultimate intention to seize the Kuki-Zo territory was, therefore, openly proven to all Indians.

The Kuki Inpi Tengnoupal also said the people of Moreh are saddened and surprised to find the 5 Assam Rifles telling the helpless people that the Assam Rifles were not in the position to protect the Kuki-Zo women and children from those Manipur beasts. So, the vulnerable women and children had to stay outside of the Indian Army camps day and night.

On the other hand, KIT said, women folks from few location expressed their thankfulness to the Border Security Force jawans for the hospitality and sympathy shown to them. The BSF Jawans were appreciated for accommodating and feeding over 1000 people mainly women, children and old.

Seeing the whole developments unfolding in Moreh, the Kuki Inpi Tengnoupal has questioned the Home Minister Amit Shah as to where the promise to withdraw the Manipur state forces from Moreh has gone now.

KIT asked: Why not implemented till date? Or Is the whole development from 3rd May till date plus the silent gesture of Hon’ble Home Minister is a proof of endorsement towards Mr N Biren Singh’s HOLOCAUST MISSION on the Kuki-Zo tribes?

The Kuki Inpi Tengnoupal also submitted a memorandum to the Union Home Minister Amit Shah on the atrocities committed bt Manipur Meitei police commandos and their Arambai Tenggol group at Sinam and Moreh border hill town on 1st of November, 2023.

In the memorandum, the Kuki body said ruthless atrocities were committed by Manipuri Police commandos suspected to be in collusion with Meitei Militias- Arambai Tenggol, Meitei Leepun who dressed themselves in Manipur police combat uniforms, had ruined and terrorized the the villages and towns of Kuki-Zo tribals in Tengnoupal district.

It stated that Sinam village was captured by the lawless Manipuri police accompanied by Arambai Tenggol thieves who started damaging properties, looted cash, precious ornaments and property documents, burning houses and vehicles belonging to the villagers. Important documents of the village chief such as village registration certificate were also looted by the Manipur state forces.

Later, on November 1, 2023, the Manipuri police accompanied by Meitei militias began their atrocities upon the people, and also looted all valuable properties such as gold chains, cash worth crores from the residents of the town. Important documents viz. adhaar cards, property documents, educational certificates etc. were being torn and burnt down. This Manipur state sponsored militants also abducted innocent citizens of the town without any proof of crime. Women, children and old aged had no option left but move out from their houses and seek protection of the Assam Rifles, KIT stated.

The Kuki Inpi reiterated its demand for Separate Administration to free its people from such breach of law, for equal political rights and survival of the Kuki-Zo people of Tengnoupal district.

It also demanded the Union Home Ministry intervention for the withdrawal of all Manipur state forces including police commandos from Tengnoupal district particularly in Moreh hill town for lasting peace and harmony and speedy progress of the Act East Policy, and to replace them with Kuki-Zo police personnels and officers until the demand for Separate Administration is fulfilled by the Union Government.
