The letter informed that the nursing students had been forced to flee Imphal, where their College of Nursing, Medical Directorate and College of Nursing, RIMS, Lamphelpat, Imphal West, are situated, due to their ethnicity that is different from the dominant Meitei community in the area. “It has become perilous for us to return to our present College in Imphal, as the safety of our well-being and pursuit of education are compromised in the current circumstances. Consequently, our academic and professional future is in jeopardy,” students said.

To safeguard their education and career prospects, the nursing students requested the concerned authority for facilitating a transfer of their enrollment to another suitable Government College located in a more secure environment.

“Our current college, College of Nursing, Medical Directorate and College of Nursing, RIMS, Lamphelpat, Imphal West is government and we believe a seamless transfer to another Government Institution will ensure a smooth continuation of our education,” the letter stated.

“This is our urgent plea as we do not want our education to be lost. Our recent college, College of Nursing, Medical Directorate and College of Nursing, RIMS, Lamphelpat, Imphal West is aware of our situation and supports our request for urgent action to facilitate this transfer,” the letter added.
