Manipur’s Saikul AC MLA Kimneo Haokip Hangshing, the youngest legislator in the state, continued reaching out to Internally Displaced Persons from various relief camps in Kangpokpi’s Saikul area.

The local MLA with InSIDE North East, a globally well-known, non-profit NGO from the area, distributed the best quality mattresses and blankets to more than 200 Internally Displaced Persons at the campus of InSIDE North East at Thangkanphai village.

The MLA also interacted with the Internally Displaced Persons who aired their grievances while the MLA assured to address them in her capacity.

MLA Kimneo Haokip Hangshing while sharing the pain and suffering of the people motivated them to stay strong with positivity and help one another at these trying times.

As the MLA handed over the blankets and mattresses to the Internally Displaced Persons, she also assured to reach out to all the remaining Internally Displaced Persons at various relief camps.

The Founding Director of InSIDE North East, Hejang Misao said that ever since the eruption of the conflict, InSIDE North East left no stone unturned as we ran pillar to post to mitigate the suffering of the Internally Displaced Persons.

He continued that the InSIDE North East reached out to people across India and the globe to help our people who are suffering, whose houses are burnt down, whose livelihoods are totally lost, and whose children’s education is badly affected.

While appreciating the vast role of the local MLA Kimneo Haokip Hangshing in addressing the grievances of the Internally Displaced Persons, Hejang Misao said that with the help of the local MLA, we could procure the best quality and huge quantity of blankets and mattresses to provide them to the Internally Displaced Persons so that they could withstand the chilly winter season.

Hejang Misao, whose noble activities had been worthily recognized by the former President of India, said that InSIDE North East supported more than 400 children’s education by providing tuition fees who are studying in different schools while providing dry rations to those directly affected victims at various relief camps in collaboration with the local civil society organizations.

He also said that we also extended monetary help which we called “Seed Money” to some Internally Displaced Persons so that they could somehow generate small income by initiating a small business while they are staying at the relief camps.

As the Founding Director of InSIDE North East assured to continue doing humanitarian service in collaboration with the local MLA and various local CSOs, he also threw a strong message to the entire population of Manipur.

“It is high time to come back to our senses. This fighting will never give any good to both communities. We must come back to our senses and live a life of normalcy so that we can also live a life of peace. Unless we do that both the community will be the loser”, Misao said.
