The All Zeliangrong Students’ Union (AMN) has condemned the killing of the Joint Secretary of the Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF), Alur Sekho, at Chuanphun Village, Kangpokpi District, in cold-blooded allegedly by NSCN (IM).
ZUF is one of the insurgent groups operating in Zeliangrong regions of Manipur and Nagaland. The outfit had also signed a cease-fire agreement with the Government few years ago.
In a press release, the All Zeliangrong Students’ Union (AMN) stated such actions not only violate basic norms of civility and respect but also create an unsafe and unwelcoming environment in the Zeliangrong area.
It also condemned the ongoing public nuisance caused by certain individuals in the Zeliangrong community. “The recent incident at Noney Headquarter and Tamenglong Headquarter against Dr. Alyson Abonmai, Independent Candidate for Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency, has had a detrimental impact on the quality of life for residents and visitors alike,” the students’ union said.
The All Zeliangrong Students’ Union(AMN) also appealed and urged all responsible authorities and stakeholders to take swift and decisive action against those individuals who are engaging in such disruptive behaviors.
