The Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) has announced indefinite social boycott over the state government on Sunday, and appealed to the people of the State not to take part in any activities of the state government as long as the boycott call enforced.

The announcement was made by the Convener of COCOMI, Jeetendra Ningombam, while briefing to the media at its office in Imphal.

Jeetendra said the decision to boycott the state government has been taken as it has failed to convene a special assembly session by August 5, which was one of the resolutions adopted in the public meeting held on May 29 wherein, mass rally against the Chin-Kuki narco-terrorists was also simultaneously held on that day.

While condemning the brutal killing of three people at Kwakta Lamkhai by the alleged ‘ illegal immigrants’ on July 5, Jeetendra also asked how the perpetrators were even allowed to carry out such acts when there is deployment of central security forces. He said that many abandoned houses belonging to the Meiteis were dismantled by thousands of Kuki-Zo women with the help of bulldozer.

The resolutions earlier adopted by the COCOMI on May 29 were to end the present conflict, to wipe out alleged foreign illegal immigrants, to exterminate alleged Chin-Kuki narco-terrorists. The resolution also adopted that no separate administration arrangement in Manipur would be made and no creation of state within the state (supra state). COCOMI also resolved full implementation of NRC in the state immediately, to convene a special assembly session by August 5 and take a resolution to save the integrity of Manipur.
